Dalhalla is a former limestone quarry that has now become an internationally renowned event venue, described as one of the most impressive and beautiful open-air arenas in Europe. During the summer season, it hosts a wide range of events attracting over 100,000 visitors.

By road, follow route 70 through Rättvik in the direction of Mora. Just as you leave Rättvik, make a right turn, and follow the signs to Dalhalla.

The lake is about 2.2m deep on average, getting its emerald green color from the refraction of light through small limestone particles in the water. The level would rise by about 15cm per week through groundwater and rainwater if it was not pumped up continuously.
